SECURING
The Mat-SU Valley'S ENERGY FUTURE

Thank you for visiting my website and being a part of the conversation about Matanuska Electric Association(MEA)'s future!

Recently, MEA has faced serious challenges with our gas supply, coming to the cusp of winter blackouts that imperil our safety and our economy. We're facing a potential need to make rapid changes to our energy supply.

The choices we make in the next year are big ones. I'm running to bring all of our members into the conversation about how we guarantee a secure energy supply while protecting ourselves from dramatic cost increases and diversifying with more local sources.

I'd be honored to earn your vote in this April's election to work with you as your next representative on MEA board.

FRONT LINE TRADES EXPERIENCE

I'm a fortunate fifth generation Alaskan with a bush pilot father, which allowed me to grow up all over the state and explore Alaska's special places. Today I work as a construction laborer, and I  have done service on the trans Alaskan pipeline in Valdez. I’m also a teacher at the laborers' training school, where I train young people and adults on a broad set of industry skills.

I previously served as a substitute teacher for all grade levels in the Mat-Su valley and hold a bachelor's degree in computing and programming.

ENERGY SECURITY
IN UNCERTAIN TIMES

Members know how close our community recently came to a winter blackout that would have left our homes in the cold and essential services like emergency medicine, police, and firefighters in the dark.

Our natural gas supply remains uncertain, with rates rising sharply and our current provider unable to guarantee future supply.

It's time our members had leadership on the MEA board that's working to diversify our options with more local energy sources. I'm running to work with our community on solutions including local solar, wind, small-scale hydropower, and long-term energy storage that can bring in good-paying new jobs.

POWERING ECONOMIC
OPPORTUNITY

The best service our MEA board can provide is  investigating options to lower our bills and bring easy, accessible energy savings options to our homes.

But opportunity doesn't stop there. We're living in a time of rapid American energy technology advancement, and MEA has a front line role to play in creating the next generation of good-paying Alaskan energy jobs.

I'm running to bring my skilled trades and construction industry experience to help our families do the math on all our options and craft an energy future that honors our Valley values.
